Sun Fish

I though this sun fish was really cool looking. I caught it in a pond near my house.

New York City

In fall 2009, me and my family took a trip to New York City. I don't know why I didn't write about it sooner.

We went to Central Park and walked around for a few hours. It may be my favorite place in the city. There was a giant Koi swimming in one of the lakes. I wish I could have caught it because I love fishing.

We also walked to Strawberry Fields.

The taxi drivers in New York are crazy. They honk their horns, raise their fists out the window and drive really fast. One of our cab drivers told someone they were stupid because he didn't like how they were driving.

I loved visiting The American Museum of Natural History. I couldn't believe how many dinosaur fossils there were. I especially liked the Tyrannosaurs Rex and the Mammoth. I also saw the world's largest jelly fish, an exhibit on frogs, all kinds of shellfish that I had never seen, giant insects, and a bunch of rocks and minerals.

We rode the Staten Island Ferry and saw the Statue of Liberty.

My favorite meal of the whole trip was when we went to Les Halles, Anthony Bourdain's restaurant. I ordered fish and chips. I can still remember the taste of the fish in my mouth. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten.

The Box Turtle

I was out playing with my neighbor and I stepped on something hard in their front yard. I looked down and realized that it was a turtle.

It was a super-orange turtle. We looked at it for about an hour and then decided to put it back where it came from. I really wish we could have kept it.

That's the post about the box turtle. Over and out, from Crazy Drummer Boy.

Atlanta

On March 27,2010, me and my family went to Atlanta. Once we first got there, we were very hungry. We decided to stop at The Varsity for some deep fried lunch. We ate burgers, fries, onion rings and milk shakes. My favorite shake was the F.O., or Frosted Orange.

After that, we went to the Georgia Aquarium. We saw tons of sharks, Grouper, Beluga whales, shrimp, stingrays, horseshoe crabs and almost any other fish you can think of. It was the best aquarium I've ever been to.

After that, we went to stay at one of our friend's houses. They had moved from Tennessee to Atlanta and we hadn't seen them in a long time.

We all went to the Coke Museum. My favorite part was the tasting room. You could try sodas from every continent of the world. The sodas from Africa were way too sweet.

The worst one was from Italy and was called Beverly. It wasn't even sweet. It tasted like bitter, old, horrible coffee grounds. Thankfully there was some Vanilla Coke to wash away the nasty taste.
